I recently learned something interesting. Walking or running 1 mile burns the same amount of calories, no matter how fast you travel. The difference is that if you run, you burn those calories in a lower amount of time. Basically, for someone who weighs 150 pounds, one mile burns 100 calories. So, if you don't weigh 150 pounds, you can figure out how many calories you burn with the following formula, where W is your current weight and M is the number of miles.
If you need to find out how many miles you walked or ran, you can use the running route tools at run.com to map out where you went and it'll tell you exactly how far you traveled.
